Pride and other things called friends!

Don't you just hate those moments when you turn around, grab your neck and think, "Eish! Now why did I do that?" Those short lived moments of utter embarrassment. When your weaknesses have been placed on the table and paraded around in magnificent style. And if you weren't a partaker of your own stupidity you would have given them a round of applause for a job well done! But because we have become masters of our own trade, we don't even flinch not even for a second. Our pride consumes every possible decree of our character and has left no room for anything else. Pride is a real thing and so are its destructive ways.
.
We have all been there once before. For others one to many times. We have all fallen short of our own standards. Either way we carry our heads up high, refusing to admit the part we played in this debacle. Because sorry is often like waving a white flag and forgiveness is like a
Peace Treaty we never want to sign.

But our closest friends know. These are the people who really know you. The people who could recite your most intimate short comings back to you, in their sleep. They are fully aware of what you did or did not do. But chose to love you still. Thank God for Grace.

So although, to the world, you may look like you have turned your back just so you can get a better view of the big blue sea and blow off some steam. Your close friends knows that you are experiencig the symptoms that come with having a real conscious and you really are just trying to find a way of fishing yourself out of this situation without looking as though you were ever drowning.

Pride is a real thing and good friends are hard to come by.
Truth is..... There just isn't enough room for both.
One of them has got to give.

...JOY...

Joy... Yes that crazy, intense state of pure elation! Yes that feeling that human nature knows almost just as well as pain. .
Then why is it that it feels so foreign at times??? Why do we act like we don't deserve to be this happy? Why? Just because we know pain??
YES the good times will not last for very long.
But that doesn't mean that you should not enjoy them just as much. Life is simple really, in the midst of whatever turmoil you're facing. Choose Joy!!!

So let the good times roll, grab onto the feeling, shake it around, press it down, fill it up some more, get drunk in it! And NEVER FORGET IT!!!

So... a toast to
*Happiness,
to the good feelings in life,
to joy.*

Simply said:  "E ja JOY mokgotsi!"
