...JOY...

Joy... Yes that crazy, intense state of pure elation! Yes that feeling that human nature knows almost just as well as pain. .
Then why is it that it feels so foreign at times??? Why do we act like we don't deserve to be this happy? Why? Just because we know pain??
YES the good times will not last for very long.
But that doesn't mean that you should not enjoy them just as much. Life is simple really, in the midst of whatever turmoil you're facing. Choose Joy!!!

So let the good times roll, grab onto the feeling, shake it around, press it down, fill it up some more, get drunk in it! And NEVER FORGET IT!!!

So... a toast to
*Happiness,
to the good feelings in life,
to joy.*

Simply said:  "E ja JOY mokgotsi!"

Bags, they carry our world on our shoulders!

Today I'm talking to you. Yes you fiesty young lady of today.
You frivelous lover who wears her heart on her sleeve and carries her world on her shoulders.
You who strikes every opportunity with a nine inch heal, then tramples over it with a platformed sole.
Yes you! The go getter of this generation, the power house of the future.
You know that you cant go about your daily activities without a bag that is fully functional, both practically and fashionably.  It is your life!!! Men might not understand this but I do.
You see, second to your shoes, a good handbag can make or break your look.
Not only that, they are the weapons with which we navigate our way through this concrete jungle. From eyeliners to Ipads, they carry our lives, our secretes, our destineys. (ok maybe a bit overdramatic)
But they are nevertheless a definite "NB"

So from glorious bags from Burberry (for the big dreamers) to the sacks on a budget (for when you finally wake up to student life). Lets find that purse that screams out at you!
That says, "Hey you could do with a break, I am one less thing to worry about," that willing servant in the fight to always look fashionably unique!

Burberry
Price? lets not even go there!!!

Then we found some bags on a budget

Hair

MY HAIR!!! The Crown that used to be my Nightmare.

I have never really been one to invest hours in pampering the crown that is my hair. I prefer living in my own fairytale. Where I get the hottest hairstyles done in the quicksets time and with minimal maintenance needed. Besides that, I'm just bored. My super curly, super natural hair is just killing me. It just keeps shrinking into oblivion, doesn’t seen to really grow, and is just starving for inspiration. Not cool. So I stumbled across a few ladies that have seemed to make it work. I fell in love again with the hair that was mine, before the perms and relaxers.

I remember when I first cut my hair. The horror I faced when I realised that my long lushes hair had finally been cut at the umbilicus. It was like aborting a crown and giving birth to an unfamiliar face. There was nothing that could be hidden. No pimples behind any fringe even my ears were exposed for the world to see. All that remained was me and my suddenly abnormally large forehead. So began my obsession with makeup. If the eyes weren't done and the pimple concealed, Po was going nowhere.  I felt so inadequate I would refuse to go anywhere without make up. My face had become my new crown. But such high levels of maintenance where not meant for me. I liked to live on the go and the makeup was just slowing me down. So I had to learn to love my face. I accepted things that would not change.
And now I can admit
that short hair does not suit me. I know that for a fact now. But I can deal with my face, I can handle the truth that has been revealed.

Now thanks to my new best friend, "Luster's - Non- drip curl activator" The bush has been tamed. (The crown that used to be my nightmare). She is now soft, shiny and oh so workable. With this spray by my side, we can conquer the world. So I continue to explore the endless possibilities that this hair has to offer.
Learning to love my hair just as God made it, before the perms and relaxers, the weaves and straighteners.  Now I’m not hating! Girl you paid for that weave, OWN IT.  I’m just taking a break from all of that.I’m  trying to take the cornrow to the next level.

Note to self, if ever in desperate need for new ideas. For weaves, relaxed hair, dreadlocks and natural hair. ALWAYS consult http://www.thirstyroots.com/ before heading to the hairdresser.

Note to SELF

Dear Reader
This blog is my little world. Filled with all the nonsensical little things I just so happen to find interesting, frustrating and amusing. I’ve created this as my own personal journal, just online for convenience. So forgive me for not always addressing you in my posts.
Excuse me sometimes when I get my NERD on. Yes I do happen to love God so yes I might get carried away at times. (Atheists are welcome we can talk fashion) I may not even blog for months on end. Its not a job it’s a past time after all.
But understand that this is merely who I truly am.
I may never have followers or I might have them in the hundreds. It really doesn’t matter because it was never really about the world. We have magazines for that.
May this be the beginning of a long and wonderful symbiosis
